32 Going on 90 it Feels Like. Hoping to Start TRT Soon

My labs are pretty close to the same on keto as they were pre keto. Pretty sensitive to carbs so not wanting to introduce them while I am still gaining water weight.

I try not to discuss keto to much as its a hot topic. Very similar to discussing TRT with the wrong crowd, people have very strong opinions. Keto helped me a lot and I enjoy it. Just waiting to feel a bit more stable on my TRT dose before I change it up.

They did this so they can charge you for it, the FDA is going to be cracking down on this practice.

It now seems this clinic was not a good choice, prefilled syringes, infused DHEA which wasn’t communicated at all.

Communication is important, it seems like they are just selling you stuff to make money, I doubt they have the ability to managed hormones because they are just throwing hormones at you without knowing if you need it.

What are you going to do if your DHEA is already at the top of the ranges?

No, and you have mentioned that before. It was not a good choice but I can’t take that back now.

The second clinic is the one using DHEA infused. As @increasemyt mentioned this is not malpractice of wrong. This appears to be an FDA regulation issue with a minor work around. Assuming 0.9mg of DHEA is not going to make any difference.

Systemlord, considering how low his T was, would he really be feeling a shutdown?

Malvado, if you won’t eat the carbs at least increase your calories. You are low weight, probably underweight if you have any muscle (any idea what your body fat is). TRT is going to stimulate your body and needs fuel. I know the water weight sucks but bulking up a little now wouldn’t be a bad idea to get the most out of the hormones you’ve been missing out on.

Let us know if you start to feel better but most likely it’s going to be 3 to 5 weeks before you stabilize.

Ok, I will make it a goal to push closer to 3,100 calories instead of my usual 2600. I eat extra if i feel hungry, 2600 is just my minimum I track too. Currently eat around 35 carbs a day and will think about bumping that up a bit. Again, no problem eating carbs (I dont have a phobia), was just trying to not change multiple variables at the very beginning.

I am probably 15% BF.

I wish I had the will power to do Keto, I think it would be very good for me but I just can’t stick to it.

Think about it for a second, he starts out with his natural T and starts injecting T, he is now stacking T and the symptoms improve, then when his HPTA shuts down, his levels drop because the cypionate hasn’t had enough time to build up in his system and now he is on the forum complaining he feels like he was run over by a truck.

He isn’t necessarily feeling the shutdown, he is feeling the loss in testosterone. When his levels are stable at 6 weeks, he starts to feel better provided his levels are sufficiently elevated and has no other issues.

Just for reference, I felt these odd symptoms from day 2 or 3. There has not been a period yet where I remotely felt better than pre trt. I would say today is the best out of the last 16, by which I mean back to pre trt feelings.

If just pre trt feelings continue until things settle out, I would be happy. Maybe I just have a really unique response to the hormone changes.

My first dose was 160mg at the clinic. Have been 18mg daily since then. Guessing that first large dose may have just really thrown me off even though my SHBG cant be super low. Have not had it tested but my free T would suggest middle of the road, around 1.5% free.

I didn’t feel better until week 7 so I wouldn’t sweat it just yet. Some weeks were better than others and some weren’t very awesome

I have seen guys make incremental improvements every couple of months and I have seen a guy an hour after his first injection have hour long sex with his wife after no erections for years. It all depends the state of other organ functions and receptor sensitivity.

Once I got on the appropriate protocol, things happened very fast, too fast. I remember for over a month muscles were growing so fast it hurt to where I could do anything that resembled exercise.

The three times I’ve tried keto diet I felt more fatigued, always hungry, never satiated no matter how much I ate and generally worse. With keto not only you deprive yourself of carbohydrates, but from a lot of vitamins and micronutrients from the veggetables and some fruits.

How long did you try keto for?

Yes you may be missing somethings from fruit, but you should still be eating vegetables on keto. Just not the sugary starchy vegetables like potatoes and carrots, almost all others you should still be eating.

3 weeks 3 times, more than enough tornment for me and I gained fat on this diet because I was eating really A LOT

Honestly I don’t believe 3 weeks is enough time to reach full ketosis. It is similar to trt as in it takes time to adjust. You are switching your entire metabolic process to stop relying on one fuel source (glucose) and switch to relying on another (ketones) and it takes time for the body to become efficient at it.

If your not strict with it you will also never reach ketosis so all you are doing is robbing yourself of carbs and not switching the metabolic process. That in turn leaves you with little fuel source for energy and you basically are just on a low carb diet and not keto, leaving you feeling like shit.

You may have been strict with it, I don’t know, just something to think about. I believe a lot of people run what they think is a keto diet but is really just low carb.

Well I will never know but Im not trying keto again for sure.

I do not see any benefit in it and I have a lot of reasons to eat rice, potatoes and oats

Again, keto is like saying TRT, there are various way to approach it and some are better than others. You can’t deprive yourself of carbs, that just is not possible. The body will always keep glucose in check even in a zero carb enviroment. Fat and protein are the only macros you can truly deprive yourself of. Now, do extra carbs help with muscle glycogen and muslce building? Absolutely. Maybe you meant deprive in the sense of a muscle building goal and not general health.

For me keto was and has been great. Like everything in life though its a personal thing and everyone responds different. Majority of my carbs come from leafy green salads, cauliflower, and berries. Typically eat a few servings of blackberries or raspberries everyday. You can eat a lot of vegetables for 35 carbs if you are avoiding the sugary/starchy ones.

This is 100% true and does have a ton of similarities to TRT. Doesn’t take that long to get into ketosis but the body adjusting to utilizing ketones can take months. Some start keto and feel great within 3 days and others still dont feel good 60 days later. Very personalized and very similar to the TRT journey.

Now, my TRT journey has just begun but reminding myself of my keto experience is helpful.

Your correct as it is truly 2-4 days depending on how low you go with carbs and your personal metabolic condition to reach ketosis. I should have stated until your ketone adapted where you feel the benefits that others speak of being ketogenic.

Alright, got my two week labs back today. I know its early, I was just curious how it would look.

Damn you need to back off on the dosage, 10-12mg daily. You are sensitive to T on daily dosing.

These would be excellent labs if at 6 weeks, Free T is almost at the top of the optimal range.
