Some guy on another board indicated that my LH and FSh are “high” for my total T - indicating that the testicles are not responding appropriately. To my understanding the LH and FSH aren’t high enough to warrant investigating primary hypo - correct? I thought we would see the numbers closer to the higher end or past the mark.
There has also been some talk regarding my total T3 - is that number actually considered low?
Just so I can calibrate myself, you still have not posted your bloodwork from 9:45 or whatever, right? Everything here is from the 5 pm bloodwork? If so, I will refrain from offering my thoughts until you have posted the proper bloodwork.
Your LH and FSH aren’t high at all. But as VT said, morning labs are necessary to make an accurate assessment since there can be huge swings between morning and evening. Just for reference, I have Primary and my LH was on the higher end of normal @ 7.4 (range 1.2-8.6), and my FSH was high @ 21.7 (1.3-19.3).

You can kind of think of it this way: getting diagnosed with Primary is kind of a default when you test negative for all Secondary indicators. All the tests to rule out Secondary will show indications of Primary (such as high LH/FSH). I can’t think of any additional tests that suspected Primary’s need to get that suspected Secondary’s wouldn’t also be getting.

To be honest, I don’t know dick about thyroid. Not to beat a dead horse, but your thyroid levels in the AM could be significantly higher. For reference, my last Total T3 score was 142. Not sure if that helps any.
When you take a mulligan and retest everything you may want to add Thyroid Peroxidase, Thyroglobulin Antibodies, and Reverse T3 to get a complete Thyroid panel.
A couple weeks ago my brother (31y/o) had a Total T test whose score came back at 466ng/dL. I told him he should get all the follow-up labs and keep an eye on it. Then I found out that he got the lab done in the mid-afternoon, which is a long time after waking for him - he routinely gets up around 5:30-6:00AM. I told him to get another lab drawn, and he went and retested in the AM . His score was 693ng/dL. So after telling him what a lucky asshole he is, he felt much better about the situation. Crazy what a few hours can do.
