28 Y/O, No Libido and High Ferritin

My libido and erections have taken several months to come online, injecting more frequently brought about these changes.

Libido is my only real issue. Other then that I have energy until later in the day usually. I’m not depressed other then some days I hate my job.

That’s really good to know, otherwise I may have given up too early. How much and how often do you inject?

Lots of guys give up early, they have not unfortunately if I give up it means certain death. I become a diabetic immediately and my A1C starts increasing, resting heart rate 100+ and get high blood pressure.

There was this one guy who waited 15 months and the erections and libido he sought came on hard and soon he was having sex with the wife for an entire hour, so there’s really no way to guess how long it will take. It will happen when it happens.

Am 41. Had sex yesterday and jerked off 2x yesterday. With good ejaculation volume all 3 times and this without hcg.

Like systemlord I don’t settle that because am in my 40s that things slow down. When I can’t get it up it’s wwIII for me

I will never settle for that either, regardless of my age. Are you on trt also?

Yeah. Started dec2017. 50mg 2x a week. I take .25 dex with each injection. Doing blood tomorrow probably will need to up my decision. I started low cause I know what it feels like having very low e.

How crucial is it to start hcg on the very first day? I have to fly out of town Wednesday for a week for work and won’t have any way to keep hcg cold. Would it be okay to do 2 injections before starting my hcg if my doc will give me a script tomorrow Morning?

Was your libido ever an issue before trt?

Sure. Why not. It’s fine. I dunt even take it. It will take months for testes to become atrophied usually

No. Am a horn dog. I jerk off everyday. It could be instinct now wanting to have sex. But there are days that I actually crave it. And trt helped that. It had a lot to do with dialing in my e2.
I also take 3mg Cialis daily and I love it.

I wake up with wood ever morning. I would think that if my trt was not right I would not despite the daily Cialis. If anyone has a comment on this let me know if I am right. I mean I dunt want to stop the Cialis to try.

@KSman any input on my ferritin levels and corresponding test levels?

My doctor referred me to a local endo, hopefully I can get in within a few weeks. No sure what to expect from her but I guess I’ll find out

Your high ferritin is due to a blood iron disorder. It’s called hemochromatosis. There’s no treatment except to do exactly what you did…give blood. You’re going to want to keep your blood levels in the 50-100 range and you’ll have to donate until you get to that range. But then you’ll only have to donate 2-4 times per year…but it’s a “rest of your life” situation. Be happy you caught it early. Mine was over 1,100 before I found out and there are people who get over 4,000 before they find out and at those levels it can cause life threatening problems.
Basically your body doesn’t excrete extra Iron, it’s stores it in your organs. You don’t really need to monitor what you eat at all…just get your ferritin checked every 2-3 months (once you get it within the low normal range) and if it’s over 100-120 then you go donate blood and it’ll take it down to 60-70 or so and you’re good for another few months. It sucks but it gives us a free pass to go donate blood whenever we want (on cycle). I literally donate 650cc of blood every single Sunday for 9 straight months. Most people can only give every 4-8 weeks. Stay on top of your nutrition because you lose a decent amount of it each time you donate.
Good luck with everything else.
PS- hemochromatosis isn’t something all doctors are even aware of although it’s becomibg more widely known because lots of people have it that aren’t even aware of it. So if your doctor tells you something else, I’d get a 2nd opinion because he clearly isn’t going to help you very much with it given he has no clue about it.

My doctor knows about hemocromatosis and had a DNA test done and found that I have the carrying jean but a very unlikely chance of actually having the disease. I can’t remember how it all worked now. I did 2 blood donations about 6 weeks apart from each other and my ferritin went from like 584 down to 218. This fast drop is making me think it’s defiantly not due to hemocromatosis. What symptoms did you have before you found out about your ferritin?

What I don’t know Is, weather or not my symptoms are due to the ferritin keeping my testosterone low or from years of steroids without hcg. My testosterone didn’t go up as my ferritin came down.

My ferritin dropped more than that some weekends. I recorded every single total after donating. I’ll look it up and let you know.
I actually just went in because my stomach hurt so they did blood tests and happened to see my ferritin was high. It had nothing to do with my symptoms at the time. Just a random lucky blood test that showed it. Might’ve gone years without finding it otherwise.
I’d be shocked if you don’t have it. There’s really nothing else it could be as far as I know…I’ve done a shitload of research on it.

Just checked. In 2 months my ferritin went from 1,161 to 465. Obviously at first it takes huge drops because you have so much Iron in your blood. After you get to that level it really takes much longer to move it down. Plus you are constantly adding to it every meal. Cereal is a bitchbecause they are all artificially fortified with a shit ton of Iron.

Yeah I stopped eating cereal and anything fortified with iron for now for that reason. Have you done any reading on circumin and iron? Seems that a handful of people think it can help chelate it from your blood. My biggest question is though, is my ferritin keeping my testosterone down or hpta damage.

37C or 37.5C ? …

Keep using iodized salt.

No thyroid lab results?

Are your testes small and did they change on clomid?
How long on clomid?

Iron: Men do not need any added iron unless they have something like a GI bleed. You need to eliminate iron fortified foods:

  • pasta
  • breads
  • rice
  • flour and mixes
  • high iron water
  • vitamins that list any iron, men’s formulae are iron free for a reason.

Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re Thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab numbers and ranges.

The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.
