Alright. I think before anyone is going to help you here they will want to see all of your labs with ranges. Some of the guys on here are number/info rock stars and may quickly see something that may lead to questions regarding your pituitary or other things.
Like was said before you may or may not feel better after 6 weeks. My libido came back after 4 weeks or so but well being came after getting my dose upped, figuring out injection schedule, and then more time, like 8-10 weeks. Im still not perfect but do feel a lot better. That being said I’m 46 so it was an easy decision and had years of bloodwork showing my T rapidly decreasing.
Alright I’ll get everything organized and post up all my previous labs tonight. Regarding my pituitary I had an mri with contrast done last year when all of the started and it came back clear. Doctor was checking for prolactinoma due to slightly elevated Prolactin levels. Prolactin levels are fine now though.
I strongly agree that what you do can affect you down the line. Back when I was in high school when I was much more immature than I am now I used 1-Andro heavily and was constantly drinking and partying and taking pain pills. I strongly believe that all of that may have contributed to by sub-par levels. That was years ago and since then I’ve lived a very healthy lifestyle.
Be aware that everyone has a genetic sweet spot for optimum T levels, if a guy turns 21 and at his peak lands a 900 ng/dL and years later he scores 450 ng/dL he now has half as much T that was meant for him. The reason you are timid is because of low T, men are powerful, assertive and strong as that’s what a man should be, I felt exactly the same before I started TRT. I was a pathetic wimp, now I feel powerful!
Oh it’s perfectly fine!! My first post was definitely long and I can understand if someone didn’t want to read all the way through it. But yes I told my doctor everything and all he did was smile and tell me, “Well it’s not about what you’ve done as long as you don’t do that stuff anymore. Let’s just see if we can get everything fixed now”. He is a great guy and if anyone lives in Alabama I highly recommend him. I tried to restart a couple of times with 4-5 week clomid cycles and upon cessation my test levels always fell back to the same low levels over the course of 2 months.
I agree with everything you said. I’ve probably just become use to how I feel, but if I really sit down and thing about how I felt back at 18/19 it’s a night and day difference. I hardly remember the days where I just felt full of energy all day long. I know that’s crazy to say considering I should be at my prime at almost 22 Years old.
I’m in the process of seeing a urologist and working things out but I would like to see what you guys think. Urologist still thinks I should try out trt due to my low test levels in the face of very good lh and fsh levels. Should I treat my thyroid? My iodine intake has always been fantastic, and body temps have consistently been 98.6.
Testosterone, DHT, are all at the lower ranges and estrogen below 20 isn’t good. These levels might not be so bad if you were 60 years old (minus E2), but at 21 the average levels for your age group are in the 800+ ranges. Low estrogen is dangerous for the mind, joints and bones. Most endo’s are clueless about these sort of things, you need to most experienced doctors and that cuts out ALL insurance based doctors.
Your TSH is terrible and am confused why your doctor thought that testing actual thyroid hormones wasn’t necessary given your TSH level. TSH doesn’t tell you anything about your thyroid hormones. That would be like trying to determine whether or not you’re testosterone is low by only testing LH without checking testosterone.
I’m not worried about your prolactin.
You probably need to try Clomid first before giving TRT a try.
Thank you for your reply. I completely agree with everything you said. I saw an anti aging doctor almost 6 months ago and he had agreed to put me on trt and I am more than likely going to follow through with it and begin. My free t4 and free t3 levels were tested. Everything is jumbled on the lab results though. My free t4 level can be found on the first page and free t3 is on the last under Triiodothyronine. My SHGB has always been good around 30. I have definitely felt like an old man due to these levels. I constantly feel achy and my joints always feel terrible.
I tried a couple of trials of Clomid almost a year ago. It bumped my test levels up into the 800s but my levels never kept. They always fell gradually after cessation.
fT3 is the active thyroid hormone and sounds optimal at or above midrange, but you can’t ignore the TSH result, something is going on and thyroid is in danger. You need a full thyroid panel checking rT3, fT3, fT4 and antibodies and suspect thyroid might be under attack by the immune system or at the very least high reverse rT3 which can prevent fT3 from entering your cells.
If you ignore your thyroid you could damaged it forever! TSH is out of ranges and this is a warning sign that something is happening to your thyroid.
