2024 Presidential Candidate Talk

I’ve never once considered NS Germany to be like this so I will need to further educate myself on the subject. I guess the topic of “what were the good things the Nazi regime brought to Germany” is a fairly niche subject

I am pro free speech and anti forced speech.

To me, forcing a private platform to publish ideas they disagree with is forced speech. I don’t think we should allow forced speech. If we can’t agree on the two previous two sentences, then I think we will just have to agree to disagree.

I get it. You like the status quo and the world-altering censorious results it is producing, but you’re also pro-free speech.

Do you consider Twitter, FB, IG, and YT private or public spaces?

I think the only reason we haven’t seen any of the big tech companies get regulated is because they are backing all the talking heads… It’s tough to be seen when you get censored for saying “we should regulate big tech”

Private. Users are under their house rules. Don’t play by their rules, and they will likely boot you out.

Nope, but let’s agree to disagree.

All of which may explain why the U.S. sided with Russia, which also piled up a few dead, civilian bodies.

Feel the same way about grocery stores?

In regards to free speech?

In regards to house rules.

Isn’t that how it currently works?

No. They’re “public accommodations.”

You can’t do whatever you want in a grocery store. Some things will get you removed.

I fail to see where this is going, especially in regards to speech laws.

Oh I have commentary on that too, but that can’t be discussed here either.

This is incorrect. There is a tendency these days to see everything with a binary filter. Nazism is its own thing and its goals had nothing to do with the left right way of labeling ideologies. It was a race based ideology and not a political spectrum based ideology.

Most people would benefit from eating less.

I agree. I see both sides trying to put the Nazis on the other. It seems to have aspects of both. One thing for sure is that it was an authoritarian regime, which is possible from both the left and right.

But not from the libertarian camp.

+1 Libertarians!

Grocery stores also can’t serve only those they want.

Edit:

It’s not really focusing on speech laws. It’s focus is on

Are you arguing that private companies should be able to do whatever they want? Are you arguing that these platforms are public accommodations, and have to serve whomever? By the way, it shouldn’t be a free speech issue. You just shouldn’t prohibit some speech while allowing other speech, without the possibility of being held responsible for speech you allow—under current laws.

@Andrewgen_Receptors @mnben87 have either of you read Mein Kampf?

@Andrewgen_Receptors it’s a starting point in looking into what NS was.

I don’t know how anyone can speak of what is National Socialism when they haven’t read it.
