2024 Presidential Candidate Talk

What subject did you teach, anyway?

The Nazis did not take power by campaigning on gas chambers and declaring war on the USA 20 years in the future. They took power by promising a bevy of socialist policies like the nationalization of health care, education, transportation and other major industries. All of which were faithfully implemented.

Edit: I almost forgot to mention, the Nazi’s were REALLY big on identity politics, just like modern socialists!

Modern socialists making distance between themselves and the Nazis after their socialist boondoggle resulted in a slaughter is just like how they all scattered away from Jim Jones after his socialist boondoggle resulted in a slaughter.

It’s no different than how socialists run away from the awful outcomes of their policies at any point in history. Remember when you insisted that defunding the police wasn’t a real Democrat policy? And here we are today, just two years later, where you can’t even get crooked cops to join the force. Nobody wants to do the job anymore, thanks to a top-down anti-cop, pro-crime campaign advanced by American Democrat lawmakers, administrators and district attorneys.

“Progressive” sympathy towards violent criminals is how a guy who committed multiple horrific assaults along with threatening to kill people was free to murder 4 Mainers last week. What are we up to now, 20 strikes and you’re out?

Back on-topic, I am liking some of the Trump videos I’ve been seeing lately. I have no doubt that this compassionate, rational and clear policy will be interpreted as LITERALLY HITLER by an abundance of leftist morons.

Exposing kids to pornography charges takes direct intentional action to expose them. While I see your reasoning, the slope is far too slippery on this one for me legally.

I think anyone who does not lock up their firearms around children is an idiot, but criminally liable? No.

One thing I do that was done with me is - get a plastic toy gun and spray paint the orange tip black and intentionally leave it around the house for my almost 3 year old now.

I have been introducing her to guns and teaching her not to touch them without adults around supervising her and that if she sees one to come get an adult. I also let her shoot (sitting in my lap pulling the trigger while I hold the gun) a single action 22 suppressed.

She has not failed yet and has come running to me or her mother to show us where the toy gun is and saying “I not touch it”.

Education is the most important thing in all areas for children.

Agreed.

What if the parent left arsenic lying around and the kid got into it and died? No criminal liability?

I don’t see how this would be any different from having a pool a kid drowns in or other cleaning chemicals or things like Tylenol that are deadly if ingested that are routinely around the house.

You never read Mein Kampf. Antisemitism was always part of the Nazi agenda. Also, some government agencies were privatized under the Nazis.

Like I said above, the Nazis were really into identity politics, just like modern socialists.

More like modern republicans

It was really a struggle of mine trying to read it.

Fascism defined the Nazis more so than socialism. Hitler did not like communism.

Like all modern politicians. It’s how they play people to get votes.

It’s nothing new, just the identities have shifted.

Precisely why all of us should be well within the law to own whatever firearms are used by the military, full auto included. The point was, however, that we have used our own firearms in this country to fight enemies. Now we do not, we delegate it to a dedicated army that the founders did not desire.
That said, let us consider one fact for a minute…the number of licensed hunters who by default own at least one long gun or bow, in the 3 adjacent states where I live, contain a number of hunters that would constitute the world’s largest army. Do we think these hunters would not protect against an invading force? I’m here to tell ya, I have a county or two of kin involved that will, and do it well.

The violence we are seeing in schools is, well, something that will need dealt with by mental health professionals, pastors, and parents. Until parents are ALL engaged, paying attention to what their kids do, it will remain an uphill battle. There are mental health cases falling through the cracks.

In MY ideal world, the adults running schools would be armed, trained, and have multiple LEO’s in each facility and who, when responding to an armed individual, would do so as if they were Bin Laden - no mercy.

I also have some thoughts and suggestions related to punishments that are not appropriate for this discussion - use your imagination, take it back to the 1800’s in America for the justice.

I also feel that many citizens wait a bit too long for justice. I can not support vigilante justice, but can’t say I hate the concept either. I mean if someone were literally worried about getting lynched for a crime, don’t we think the rate of that crime would then decrease? I do.
I mean, if I KNEW without any little doubt that committing Crime (X) would result in my swinging in the town square, I am confident I would be thinking about that a LOT when making the decision to do a crime or not.

I recall being quite young when I did things against the rules. The teacher or principal would claim they hated to do it, but had to make an example of me so that others didn’t repeat my mistake…me getting the harsh punishments typically stopped any repeats that would have happened, and they were a good illustration for classmates who wanted to try. That extrapolates nicely into adult behaviors like we are discussing. Pass a law that allows for enhanced punishment when a random shooting happens. Deal out the enhanced AKA it never hurt so bad punishment, broadcast it nationwide, and I would wager a lot that the rate of that crime would decrease.
I know armed robbery carries a harsh mandatory prison term. If I think I need money so bad I’d do that, well that prison term would change my mind. I’m too pretty to go to jail!

Lastly, let’s discuss “pro-gun” a sec. I am not pro gun, or pro 2A, but I support citizens’ use of personal firearms as a self-defense, hunting, or sporting tool. If I am pro-anything, it is pro-manners. A little mutual respect goes a long way. I believe I should be able to purchase, keep, carry and use any weapon that can be wielded by one man that is available to any military.
Kids should be taught gun safety and marksmanship in schools in case they find a gun and need to know how to safely get it to an adult, or if they are atttacked and happen to have one handy they know how to use it. I did, at age 7 I was shooting .22 revolvers, age 12 hunting alone with my own 12 ga, and pretty near most everything hand held since. Never committed a crime. Never shot another civilian. Never broke ANY firearms or related laws. Seems it worked for my country ass so I bet the big city boys could catch on too.

“A Country Boy can Survive” ring a bell? We need a LOT of country boy types in this country because some nut cases are spray painting their lavender slogans all over coming out as a new creature daily. It is nuts. I am sick of it. I want order. I am sick to death of the ‘stupid’ that is THE real epidemic. People were too stupid to refuse wearing a mask (they won’t stop a fart you think they stop microbes?), and some were even thinking they would mandate the injection of a foreign substance into citizens, and that substance did not and could not have any proper long-term research. No thanks. My fellow Americans are not, on many occasions, pleasing me with how they display their citizenship. Then it was a new variant every few weeks to maintain compliance from the good sheep. There is a serious lack of pride, guts, and a willingness to take action among the citizenry. That ain’t the American Way!

Amen.

I think we just became best friends with that post.

Ha! Glad to efffin hear anyone who agrees nowadays !

I sometimes feel like I am an idiosyncratic old guy, but then…

Here is how this one old soldier sees things…I agree with Sir Edmund Burke when he said, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.”
I therefore consider doing nothing an action in and of itself. So when I see folks doing nothing when I WOULD, I see it as an inappropriate action. See the logic?

So, if I witness a display of something I feel to my very soul is wrong, and I do not address it, I am am condoning it. If I condone something it is a short step from supporting it. Why the hell would I condone it to start with? I won’t. See wrong, call it as wrong, deal with it, move on.

Oh I am effin elated someone agreed with all that I typed cause I half expected some candy ass to take offense and demand I pay their safe space rental invoice

Hasta la cucaracha hermano

This with an almost three year old? A girl? I hereby nominate you for the American Dad of the Year Award!!
Goooooood Job!!!

I had my boy on a scoped rifle at age 14 I think. Would’ve done it sooner but he is ASD.
My daughter displayed some emotional issues so I waited til she was an adult then taught her to shoot my 1911. All done. Neither took up hunting or target sports, but they by God know how to use a firearm.
I think it is very impressive to intro a 3 yo girl like that. I know you are using solid hearing protection and that would be the only danger I hear her coming close to. I gotta say it becaue I have tinnitus from military service, and wear hearing aids. No fun. Just sayin’

Be well, take care, stay strong and ready

We may not agree totally but I appreciate your tenacity and willing to stick up for something.

I heard a term a while ago that people now are “pudding people” bending to whatever container is convenient in the moment. Nothing real solid or firm at all. Seems to describe a lot of folks nowadays.

Oh yes, I drag race and take her to drag events too. She has the best money can buy.

Plus, my wife would kill me :joy:

Thank goodness. Morality issues aside, if SCOTUS had not done this, even Kamala would’ve been a shoo in for 2024.

Like Americans.

The problem with trying to make analogies between the Nazis and other movements is that there is the whole German master race component that is the most important part of Nazism. People call the Nazis socialists but the Nazis believed in slave labor and serfdom. Those aspects of Nazism that some call socialist did not exist for socialism’s sake. Nazism served the German people, the German people did not exist to serve Nazism. Compare that to China or the USSR or Cuba and how socialism functions in those places. Socialism limits greatness and keeps people down. Nazism was supposed to lift the Germans up and allow them to express their greatness and superiority. Socialists, especially the ones in America, hate the concept of the great man. The Nazis wanted to create an entire race of great men.
