I think the term “hostile” is a bit misplaced here, but I would argue that if the states separated according to voting patterns that the skill/knowledge/resource gap between states would cause massive infrastructure gaps. I think we would see trade wars erupt near instantly as well.
More than that, China and Russia would be knocking on our front door within days because the defending army would comprise of individual states’ rather than the army of a nation.
There’s a reason that a whole circle of hell is dedicated to politicians…
That is a point. The left plays to win by any means necessary, and generally speaking, hate “conservatives”. It appears to me the conservative/Fox News/MAGA/Republican/right constituency does not have nearly the same degree of hostility. Has any President been more hated than Donald Trump?
Conservatives aim to appease and reason, and continue lowering the bar for what the left wants.
So you have two sides playing different games.
Conservatism is for losers. And what I mean by that is losing in the literal sense, as in losing a fight.
Yes! “Conservative” seems to mean, “I like what Progressives did 10 years ago, but they’ve gone too far now.” I can’t wait for conservatives to be in favor of 36,000 genders while opposing 36,001.
In reality, i think if the US divorced we would see the blue side come crawling back to the red within 6 months because they had
no farmers to produce food
no factory workers to produce goods
no truckers to deliver them
no one willing to serve in their military
no gold left in their dollar
I don’t think we would ever see a civil war because the republicans and conservatives own the vast majority of the guns and ammo. The leftists would have to be far more stupid than they already are to want that war.
I dont want to relegate myself to such nihilism, but i can honestly say i never felt the need to own a firearm until about a year ago. Now ive got 600 rounds of 00 should californian politicians change “mandatory vaccination” into “MANDATORY vaccination”…
You can jab me, but only after I’m out of ammo and breaths to give.
^this statement applies to far more than vaccination
I bought my first gun in Spring of 2020. I don’t think that’s good considering I believe I should have been taught how to use a gun in my mid teens. Another personal flaw of mine is lack of martial arts training.
Or, given red state dependence on welfare, we see the opposite. You might also want to take a look at California’s gdp.
You can think red states produce more food but someone needs to buy it. You think in your scenario they wouldn’t sell food to blue states? Does capitalism somehow disappear?
I know for a fact that they would, but something tells me that prices would be high enough that farmers would no longer need to be subsidized (which is the largest burden of welfare among most red states). So now in combination with blue state’s unaffordable living in cities, they also cannot afford food either. To be fair, cities in blue states are also impossibly expensive, but blue states tend to have a disproportionate city-dwelling population in comparison to red states.
This ties into the trade wars i mentioned earlier.
I imagine some states (california and NY) would devolve immediately into socialism regimes, but I think the rest of the ‘normal’ states would remain democratic capitalist as they currently are.
Then they don’t but the food and the farmers make no money. And given how capitalism works, some other food source would step in to make money. Canada, Europe, Mexico, etc.
