It’s only positive IF it’s for the better. If it is giving in to corporate money influence so the corporations can make more, then it’s flip flopping.
I meant as a character trait. If I’m going by ‘I like this character trait as long as the person is changing to the position I agree with’, I don’t actually like the character trait, I just want politicians to agree with me.
So I’ll stand by that. I’ve always hated the term ‘flip flopping’ in politics for this exact reason. We call it flip flopping when people change their minds and we don’t agree with them. We call it growth if they come to our side. I’m not gonna do that.
I agree. If new information becomes available, and you refuse to consider it, you are not a critical thinker.
The opposition party labels it “flip flopping” as a political tactic. I would much prefer they address it much more critically, but the attention span of the typical viewer cannot tolerate the analysis required. I live with it. I do my own analysis as best I can, and ignore the political attack.
The problem is that political platforms don’t update when new information comes in.
No, but individuals can, and if the leaders of the political parties were more willing to adapt to new information, perhaps platforms overall WOULD change. I think it’s so fucking asinine that our political leaders don’t realize that they would probably have more respect if they had the humility to admit when their first position was wrong, and they’ve changed their mind. They only seem capable of doing so well after they’ve left office (thinking of past presidents like Clinton and both Bushes).
They fear if admitting they were ever wrong, they will be perceived as being inferior in all future decisions. I see no change going forward
The title of this thread is both sexy and scary.
I mean it COULD yield something good or something very bad, I simply don’t think it could get much more shameful than what we have.
IMO there’s a lot of high level corruption, a lack of candidates other than Trump or DeSantis. Not sure how those two Impact each other or the overall race.
If he hadn’t been aging more since leaving I’d put Trump as the #1 contender on the right, but now ain’t so sure. Will DeSantis split the ticket?
Personally I’d prefer Trump but could get behind DeSantis winning.
I want to see Biden on the campaign trail again so I can laugh.
And if he wins?
What is it about Trump you prefer?
And what about if a new “contribution” becomes available?
And this “change of mind” is usually precipitated by a bribe ahem a contribution.
I can laugh even harder in my compound.
This country needs some hard times and shedding of dead weight.
Kamala Harris becomes president and the country (probably) implodes
Somebody else would run on his side and split the vote is my guess.
Then Desantis and Trump both run and split the red vote.
Cluster fuck ensues.
I think this is a pretty awesome scenario.
Fuck, I might even toss my name in and run.
As a resident of Florida and non-fan of Trump, I loathe both these guys. At least Trump is a “what you see is what you get” kind of brash a-hole. DeSantis is a shady motherfucker and career politician.
So you are for drag queens and teaching sex to young kids in school, against law and order, opening up businesses while the rest of the country was shut down…nice to know you probably voted for the corrupt Charlie Crist and Sleepy Joe
I wish Bernie Sanders was elected president, would love to see what he can do.
