2024 Presidential Candidate Talk

Is currency different than money?

Were we talking about the worth of money? So, try again.

Worth is intrinsically tied to money for it to be functional.

If there is no worth, in reality it doesn’t matter if it exists or who supplies it.

No wonder you still dwell in your parents basement, if something this minute and simple is such an issue with you.

Maybe you can try life over again if reincarnation exists because in this one you’ve lost and you are old.

It is taxes that give value to a fiat currency, since there is no intrinsic value.

So the fact that the Fed. government accepts payment for a tax liability only in our currency(U.S.dollar) is what gives money any value. The U.S. dollar is essentially a tax credit.

Back to the original question. Money comes from the federal government, not capitalist businesses.

Yes. I’m surprised an accomplished currency trader such as yourself does not know that.

That’s a funny way of saying supply and demand of currency balanced by government stability.

Aka what people think it’s worth.

So it’s OK to be unethical and feed capitalism and be a leftist poser because it’s hard to not be. Gothca.

I mean he could live off grid and be self reliant but that would mean unlatching from the government teat.

Because the answer is no. What is the difference you believe there is?

Add greed in there too. “Class” is irrelevant with that though.

right, sorry. I do believe Bill Maher wants her to run, and he’s somehow middle-ground these days. Though he still goes off and says some stupid leftist shit sometimes, his opinions are often not maligned with the mainstream lefties.

@castoli711

I would appreciate it if you started your own thread to express the general set of socioeconomic concerns you have that are, at best, only tangentially related to any of the thread topics you choose to participate in. Your various lines of thought all seem to converge on the notion that everyone is foolish except for you.

You position yourself as a keeper of hidden knowledge about society, government, the economy and how culture ties it all together. Perhaps you do, indeed, possess the insight we all need to completely re-imagine our systems of governance and move forward into an enlightened age of prosperity and understanding. I’ll go ahead and hold that notion in my head for a bit.

We get it. You have the secret sauce and it is beneath you to explain your superior ideas to everyone in clear terms. That’s why you should start a thread to explain the Castoli Way to all of us dumb rubes. Please, for the sake of our fragile egos, I would appreciate it if you could stop totally demolishing our on-topic posts across various discussions of specific subjects that are presently relevant.

To be clear, I’m being as genuine as I possibly can be, not a sarcastic prick like I’m wired to be.

I’ll be the sarcastic prick here.

Dude is like the fcuking child who asks “Why?!” to every answer given; I blame the people who keep giving the answers. There, I said it. Because I’m so sick of having this pablum being regurgitated in every.goddam.thread.

You’re not the only one!

On topic -I had no previous clue who this Senator Sinema lady is.

But I’m all ready to anoint her a leading candidate (only partially sarcastic), “sight” unseen.

add: Gabbard/Sinema 2024! @twojarslave

Though Sinema dropped her party affiliation from Democratic to Independent, she has still promised to caucus with the Democrats.

Semantics perhaps, but she said nothing is going to change in the way she does business; there was no “promised to caucus with the Democrats”. By definition, stating she is Independent rather than Democrat is a change.

(from Yahoo story)
The 46-year-old said her party switch is a logical next step in a political career built on working almost as closely with Republicans as she does with Democrats. That approach helped her play a pivotal role in bipartisan deals on infrastructure, gun safety and same-sex marriage during the current 50-50 Senate. It’s also infuriated some Democrats, particularly her resistance to higher tax rates and attempts to weaken the filibuster.

-I especially like the resistance to weaken the filibuster part. We need to stop lumping everyone under Dem/Rep, and start looking at specific positions.

For many, probably. I think many others are truly just stupid and/or ignorant.

Depends upon the type of “class…”
