2018 NFL Thread

I’ve hoped for a Jets-anybody Superbowl for every year of my life that I can remember, so yes! Don’t let me crap on your parade.

No crap taken dude. I’ve fallen completely out of touch with football the past few years so now I root primarily for the schadenfreude scenarios.

Vikings defense hasn’t been good all year. I don’t know what the hell is going on with them.

45 minutes till kick off :+1:t2:

Trubisky…4 TDs in the first half.

No wonder so many TDs this year from everyone. The refs have stopped calling OL holding… at all.

The Bears are looking scary.

I was gonna say:
NOW Fitzmagic is over.

must’ve been the headsets …

He’s just mad that big Ben retired at halftime. To be fair Ben was bound to get a back injury. Carrying the whole team will do that to a guy.

I’ve been getting more into handegg recently and decided to actually start following it this season. Since my dad supports the 49ers I figured that was as good a team as any to follow.

Ben definitely didn’t look like himself last night. After he threw behind an open Brown with like 3 to go I was pretty sure it was over.

*And what was with the pump fake fumbles? Ben had two and Joe had one.

He dropped two pump fakes too. He never does that. But then Flacco dropped a pump fake. Maybe somebody was greasing the football to keep it interesting.

Oh well. The Steelers had a HOF QB for a long time and got two rings out of it. Preparing for at least 5 years of losing to Baker Mayfield.

He probably will be the best qb in the North in the next few years… Ug…

Those browns fans deserve some wins dammit. Would you stick with a team that left, got reinvented in expansion and sucked for 20 years?

In other news. My youngest is super aggressive and loves tackling his big brother. We’re like “should we let him play football if he wants to?”

Then I see stuff like this:

Ya, I don’t think our boys will play football. They’re gonna need their brains…

Yea man … not really into having my little guy play football - there’s always hockey and lacrosse for rough sports (if he’s into those things)

My kid play football for years and he was fine. Graduated in the top of his class. Let them play.

One confounding factor is it’s a very small school. So the class they play in won’t have many real athletes on the other teams. I think the teams have <30 kids on the whole team. So if you show up, you start.

I just think life is full of risks and you still got to live it. I wouldn’t push my kid to play football or any sport, but if they want to play, as long as they commit to it I don’t have a problem with it.

Look, I got a ‘season ending’ concussion running up the stairs in my house. I had to take disability from work and everything. And as of now, I still wouldn’t be cleared to play football.

Shit happens in life, you have balance mitigating it’s risks and living the life.
Most youth through high school programs I have experienced are good. And the kids that participate in them get more benefits, then they suffer risks.
I don’t know how it used to be, but the stereotypical jock has not been my experience with youth\ school based football. As a matter of fact and reports of bullying gets you suspended from the team.
That’s my experience though. I haven’t been to Texas, but I am pretty sure it’s not like TV.
