Well, Vikes defense just got a little scarier. Sheldon Richardson is a monster.
Someone in the Baltimore media suggested the Ravens pick up Johnny Football, fml…
I’ve been seeing that bullshit in the Boston media too as a backup for Brady…
Why not? He’s cheap and if he doesn’t work out, they cut him.
Cause he’s the hottest of hot garbage.
There you go ![]()
I know Belichick likes value players, but I doubt he’d find much value in that waste of talent…
I agree here, the guy is going to play for pennies on the dollar compared to what other quarterbacks are getting paid, and hell, and if he did show up and shine…man…talk about a win…
Yea, but his record suggests that won’t be the case and I think THAT’S what coaches are going off of. I mean, he COULD be what you’re suggesting but his past behavior suggests otherwise…
Absolutely, “The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” And the league has some real classy guys in it (Vontaze Burfict?) already. I just personally think there is room for him on a team that has strong leadership (think pats with Brady/Belichik combo, none of that shit is flying there, ha)
I’d rather bring Tim Tebow out of retirement.
For the right guy in the right place in his head that has a similar past to J Football, sure. I’m just skeptical he’s genuinely there and genuinely can accept a non-star role. I think he’s too much of an egomaniac to be able to learn the habits he needs to be a successful NFL QB on any sustained level…
BUT if anyone could do it, I think BB/TB would be among to most likely to make manzeil into a successful NFL player…
To be fair, can you imagine dedicating your entire life to football and then being drafted by the Browns?
I’d snort some coke and skip practice too.
I think you’re joking but it has to be said that they’re still NFL players. The best of the best of the best in terms of football players. yes, the browns, in that league, are in a sad state of affairs and have been for some time - clearly it’s leadership.
It’s very short sighted to see it that way considering for an athlete and if he did, he doesn’t have what it takes to make it on any team. It’s very self-centered perspective which is one of the main reasons he hasn’t made it and why I think he never will at that level (if that was his attitude)…
Oh he was a little shithead for sure. But I think the point is valid that a real coach and a winning organization could straighten him out.
My problem with him is he’s just too short, even if he got his act together. When all the linemen are 6’5->6’8… then they put their hands up to block passes… short QB’s are at a big disadvantage.
Umm Drew Brees…
Remains to be seen - I doubt it though. He was on a winning team in college with a real coach and he was a shit head then too. Granted NCAA <> NFL but he was at a top tier school acting like a douche - charging people for his autograph and shit. He clearly has personality issues - could a rigid coach straighten him out (like BB)? - possibly - but I think his personality issues are too ingrained for any type of substantial growth that would lead him to be even a serviceable QB on that type of team…
couple his personality deficiencies with:
and he won’t make it. Too much of a liability and not worth the time and money investment - too much opportunity cost associated with bringing him in and the risk of failure is too high.
It takes a lot of hard work for a short(er) QB to make it in the NFL - guys like Breese and Wilson are extremely rare in terms of their mind set and physical shortcomings. They have even more cards stacked against them yet make it. Manzeil doesn’t have it - too many deficiencies.
He’s the same height as manziel (6’0") with double the talent and work ethic.
If manziel was a 6’5" athletic mutant like Newton, maybe it’d be worth working around him being such a dbag.
You said he’s too short. Plenty of QBs in the 6’ range in the NFL that are successful. I think he’s a giant twat, personally. I’m just saying I don’t think height is that much of a factor.
I saw him at the Chick-fila Bowl against Duke.
One of the best games I have ever seen. He has talent and potential. I don’t see a downside. If he sucks, he’s gone for next to nothing.
If he’s garbage, the downside is small.
There’s a time investment associate with it that I’m sure the likes of BB would rather invest in a someone else…Opportunity cost and all that…
