2015 NFL Season

Can anyone explain why all 6 teams that played on thanksgivig were all NFC teams? Is it just a coincidence, or is it part of the tradition?

It’s not tradition, but it’s not a coincidence either. It has to do with the 2012 TV contract.

Wiki explains it better than I could: “Rule changes in the 2012â??2022 television contracts will permit “flex scheduling” of the Detroit/Dallas afternoon rotation. It would allow the Lions or the Cowboys to host the prime time game rather than their traditional afternoon slots. In such a case, CBS would be permitted to schedule an AFC vs. AFC game in their afternoon time slot. In addition, the new “crossover flex,” which permits selected games to be switched between CBS and FOX, along with CBS holding rights to either conference on Thursday through its Thursday Night Football contract effectively allows CBS to schedule an NFC vs. NFC matchup in a year they are opted to air an AFC at NFC game. The 2014 season was the first in which all three games feature NFC vs. NFC opponents under these rules; the league again scheduled an all-NFC Thanksgiving for 2015”

I’m not going to go so far as to say the Bears played great football - there were some great individual performances - but to beat the Packers at home the night Fav-ruh’s number is retired is just too sweet for words.

The turkey leg should go to Gase for how he’s handled our head-case of a QB this year. Every pass Cutler completes - even the simplest bubble screen - builds his confidence just a bit more. And every interception he doesn’t throw keeps the team in the game.

With the 49ers, Redskins, Vikings, Bucs, and Lions left on the schedule, it’s not impossible for the Bears to finish the year 8 and 8 but more importantly, have some pieces of the puzzle in place, especially in the secondary.

+1. Gase doesn’t get enough credit for the work he has done.

What a Thursday.

Not saying they’re great, but they seem to be missing the Eye of the Tiger as much as anything like talent or play calling, [/quote]

Two things:

Romo needs to learn how to take a hit, and their coaching seems to be shit. Not the play calling portion, but the actual coaching part. They don’t seem to play as a unit, but a bunch of individuals. The heart is there, they just aren’t beating on the same rhythm.

I’m actually happy there were none of those calls. I’m not a “protect the QB” guy. I remember Montana beging fucking rekd by some johnson on the Giants and giving Young the chance to shine.

That being said, be a fucking man and hit a QB in the chest. I can see and understand hitting a monster in the legs like Blunt. But to dive at Brady’s knees as that slow as fuck white boy is moving around int he pocket? That is fuckign bush league bullshit. God I hate knee diving cheap mother fuckers as much as late hitting cheap as dirty mother fuckers like TJ Ward. You’re a fucking professional, stop trying to ruin a fucking career rather than miss a tackle.

If you were pop warner and diving at a knee? Fine, you have no skill. Your a fucking million dollar professional in the NFL? You don’t need to dive at a QB’s knees. Any QB’s knees. Even a big fucker like Newton. Ankles or thighs. Don’t try and throw a shoulder into a knee.

I wish I could remember the play so I could watch it again on the off chance I’m miss remembering it. Because it pisses me off.

dude, that team is a quality coach from a dynasty type run. I love Rex when he loses, hate him when he wins, but he is his own worst enemy. Too emotional. He could be killer, but he isn’t… Your team is coaching away from being so fucking pimp you’re grandkids will brag about it.

I was at the last game he did that, lmao.

Straight dirty player ^ Had to watch him on the Browns for a few years, and glad he’s gone. He should have been suspended, or got a ass whooping for what he did to Gronk.

Tough loss last night.

Denver played well when it counted and the Pats didn’t…

The holding call against Chung in the back of the endzone was bullshit, along with a few others against the Pats. Maybe they hired NBA refs to call this game?

Hope Gronk is ok, he was rolling around like a soccer player after that hit, but you never know with knees/legs. I saw the TJ ward hit he took in real time, and it was sickening.

Brady fucked up with that extra time out to Denver when the clock kept running. I’m sure he’s pissed and highly motivated which is bad news for the rest of the league.

Browns are a favorite tonight and giving 4 to the Ravens.

I’m really trying not to talk about that as:

a) Good teams play well enough to overcome bad calls
b) I don’t know if I’m a homer or the play calls in that game were really as blatantly pro-Denver as they seemed.

I’m biased, but the play calling was incredibly pro-Denver. That penalty against Gronk was bullshit.

I forgot about that “pushoff” as the hold against Chung really swung things in Denver’s favor. (sack and FG attempt, to TD)

I would pay significant amounts of money to have the in game audio be a mic’d player. In last nights case, I would have killed to know what Brady was yelling at the refs.

I just want to say that I think it is complete bullshit that we don’t get to see this guy tonight. All because the Browns “head coach” is a schmuck.

Most Browns games ever.

Embarrassed that douche bag johhny liar was allowed to dress.

You’re kidding, right? He is as immature as it gets. This is the NFL, not high school football. You don’t let the shit he does slide. He needs to buck up and be a man.

That was the best ending to a game this season IMO, so unbelievable. Even crazier when you consider it was the guy who blocked the ball’s first NFL game.

he’s trolling this thread with jon liar nut hugging, dont feed into it.

That damn kick six lost me 10 dollars!! Both endings of the last two nfl games were good and down to the wire. That kicker needs to work on getting it up. I actually found Cleveland’s back up Austin Davis to be better than Manziel and Mccown I would keep him and sell Manziel to Dallas where he will do great with the I’m in it for myself mantra.
