Torrey Smith imo. While the NO/GB game is probably gonna be a shoot-out, keep in mind Colston is coming back as well. It’s just too random to start Moore.

I’m so on the fence with this one… I want to start smith but he had a shitty first two games, but yea Moore is hit or miss… it’s like, flip a coin.
another thing to consider is that this game tonight has the potential to be a blow-out, meaning less passing in the 3rd/4th quarter. I’d still start Torrey, though.

Well, all integrity just went right out the fucking window in my league. The guy sitting in first place, right in front of me and who I happen to be playing this week, just traded McFadden, Amendola and Andy Dalton for RG3, Jamaal Charles, Martellus Bennett and Jermaine Gresham. His only TE was fucking Delanie Walker before this trade, he’s now pretty much stacked at a thin position (on top of everything else the motherfucker beat me to the punch on a waiver claim for Mikel Leshoure) and in my opinion he absolutely raped the other guy by essentially getting two quality TEs for Amendola and then getting RG3 and Charles for Dalton and McFadden.

Now I’m really under the gun about a very critical decision I need to make about my lineup this week. What do you guys think? I have Eli Manning, Newton and Ponder at QB and I’m torn between Newton or Ponder in my second slot. Right now I have Ponder in there since Newton plays in Atlanta this weekend and their secondary is legit. Cam doesn’t look like he’s running with the same effectiveness as last year and when teams dare him to throw he’s been poor at times and when he’s been good the receivers have dropped the ball.

Ponder plays in Detroit, which could get ugly with that front four. But Minnesota’s OL really showed me something against SF. They have some talent there and John Sullivan is one of the better-looking centers in the league, which really maximizes AP’s running style. I think Minnesota should be able to run pretty well against Detroit and I’m hoping that slows the pass rush down a little and Ponder can take advantage, specifically by going to Kyle Rudolph who I have at TE.

Newton and Eli. imo of course.

also I started Pitta over Witten in my yahoo league. The Ravens OC really fucked me good tonight.

Can’t blame you for that one. I would have gone with Pitta as well.

Newton over Ponder, eh? I’m on the fence about it. Newton might rip off a couple of nice runs, maybe even run one in, but I don’t see him having a big game through the air against Atlanta. I don’t see Ponder having a huge passing game either, but I think he’ll throw the ball better than Newton and he’s no slouch at running the ball himself.

Make a case for Newton. Talk me out of Ponder.

Thats a tough one coop. You gotta like ponder bc hes playing det. weak secondary, and can always lead to a big game. but then you look at cam, hit or miss. But he is playing atl who WILL put up the points. that game will be a shootout, if its not, people lose money, one of those games. So in that aspect cam has no choice but to have a big game, or at least put up big fantasy numbers unless hes tossing int all game. I like ponder, more than others, especially if youre looking at a QB2 but if youre going qb2 take the risk on cam slinging it out against ryan which hell lose, but numbers wise they are there.

Yeah, I thought about the shootout aspect a little bit. But my worry is that Atlanta is capable of running up a bunch of points and that Carolina won’t be able to throw the ball effectively against that secondary when they can expect the pass every play.

I think Carolina wants to come out and run the ball a lot against Atlanta to quiet the crowd, keep Ryan and company off the field, and take advantage of their biggest strength offensively against Atlanta’s biggest weakness on defense. I think the score is going to be either something like 28-24 Atlanta or 41-10 Atlanta.

Also, if Stafford plays well and starts to light up the Minnesota secondary I have a little more faith in Ponder to respond well in a shootout right now. I don’t think that game is going to get out of hand though and I could also easily see Ponder going something like 15 for 23 with about 190 passing yards and no touchdowns or turnovers in a close, 20-16ish loss if they really try to pound away at Detroit with Peterson the whole game.

But goddamnit, Newton is just so fucking talented and the offense revolves SO heavily around him that I just cringe when I think about putting him on the bench. It’s one of those where if it works it looks brilliant, but if it doesn’t and it fucks me out of a playoff spot I’ll look back on this and shoot myself for benching Cam Newton in favor of Christian Fucking Ponder.

When I have a toss-up like Newton or Ponder, I just go with the guy with more upside. I personally think Newton will rise to the occasion and play a great game… having Johnathon Stewart back also helps. But of course Ponder has Jerome Simpson back from suspension and that makes their offense that much better… I really won’t argue against you for starting Ponder, I just think Falcons-Panthers is going to be closer than people think.

I would monitor that neck of Ponder’s though although it seems minor.

need trade advice guys. I have RG3, who can I get for him? I may need him this week to win, hopefully he does great against the Bucs which will up his trade value.

10-team, non-ppr, start 2-QB league

  • My other QB is Michael Vick, backup is Andrew Luck
  • My WRs are Calvin Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Denarius Moore, Brandon LaFell

possible trades I am looking at, what do you think?

  1. RG3 for Schaub/Victor Cruz

  2. RG3 for Flacco, A.Johnson -OR- Welker -OR- Miles Austin

  3. RG3 for Peyton, Nicks -OR- Harvin

  4. RG3 for Romo, AJ Green

  5. RG3 for Stafford, Dez Bryant

  6. RG3 for Rivers, Lloyd -OR- Wallace

  4. RG3 for Peyton, Nicks -OR- Harvin

  5. RG3 for Romo, AJ Green

  6. RG3 for Stafford, Dez Bryant

  7. RG3 for Rivers, Lloyd -OR- Wallace
Number 5 is close to a no-brainer given that you’re a little thin at WR after Jackson and Johnson. Number 6 could be a good trade and I think if you could somehow turn Number 3 into an RG3 for Flacco, Welker AND Austin trade you could be looking good as well.

thanks dude… very good advice. I’ve never made a trade before so I don’t want to botch this, lol.

I want to trade Doug Martin or Alfred Morris for a WR in our T-Nation League.

Thats cool, cause Cutler is going only throw two passes tonight.
