IQ and class. Only Jets fans have both.

Varies.

Usually, if you’re a Yankees fan you wind up being a Giants fan. If you like the Mets, you tend to go with the Jets.

That is speaking very, very broadly.

There are a lot of people like me, who like Yankees and Jets.

A lot of times it’s also where you’re from in NY.

For example, if you’re from Queens, it traditionally would stand to reason that you’d be a Met fan, because Shea Stadium was right in your backyard. And the Jets used to play at Shea, so it made a lot of sense in that regard.

If you’re from the Bronx, chances are you’re going to like the Yankees, for similar reasons.

Like anything else, some people become fans just because their friends or family are fans. If your dad likes the Jets, you will probably like them, too.

Other than that, I guess it just depends how the team is doing or how their play or players speak to you when you start getting more involved with watching the sport.

I’m a Jet’s fan primarily because when I started really getting serious about football in 7th or 8th grade, Wayne Chrebet just won me over.

At that point I was about 50/50 Jets/Giants, but watching him play just made me fall in love with the team. Dude just did anything to make a play.

It was always cool to me that he went to school on Long Island (Hofstra), too.

Being a Jet and and growing up on LI was cool because you’d run into players a lot. In fact, Wayne was actually tight with my high school English teacher and came to class one day, which was crazy.

My best friend is a Giants fan, so I’ve always rooted for both teams, but my heart is with the Jets.

Haha, while I appreciate the compliment, I’m not sure I can agree. There was that time Jets fans started setting fires in the stands at a Monday Night game because the team was losing so badly.

Jets fans–like Mets fans–have a lot of resiliency.

It’s hard to consistently cheer for mediocrity, and fool yourself into getting excited every season, year after year.

Testeverde made the occasional good thing happen. Pennington gave us some hope and a few great games, but ultimately just let us down.

Finally, we’re in a good spot and it feels like Rex Ryan is the Football gods way of rewarding fans for being patient and loyal for so many years. If the Red Sox can win a World Series after 9 decades, we can put a Super Bowl away.

“You just gotta believe,” I think, is the expression?

Those Harrison hits yesterday were ridonkulous, did anyone see Harrison pointing at the sky after one of the hits? Im not sure what that means. That Jackson hit was the most viscious. Kevin Kolb is going to be a hot commodity once again next year.

After the Cribbs hit I think Harrison motioned to the sidelines for the trainer because he knew he got KTFO. I think that’s what you’re referring to.

The people (mostly writers and ex-QBs on TV) that are calling these hits dirty can kindly tongue my sweaty ballbag. The “defenseless receiver” rule was meant to protect airborne receivers from getting clocked when they land. It’s not meant to protect you when you juggle a pass and duck your head right into the hit, which was a shoulder to helmet hit, not helmet to helmet.

The only way to properly protect yourself from getting your ass kicked by James Harrison is to not get on the bus in the first place. Just stay home and play checkers with your mom instead.

Im a Dallas fan that has only won 1 playoff game since 1996, I fool myself every year and get excited. I can hate the Giants they are in my division.

Oh, no doubt man.

Still, winning only 1 playoff game since 1996 isn’t bad when you had that awesome stretch immediately before in the mid 90’s.

We’ve been bereft of anything significant for a long, LONG time.

My girlfriend is a die-hard Cowboys fan and I’m watching her suffer week in and week out; it’s hard to watch. I will be wearing a Romo jersey and cheering for your team when they play the Giants, don’t you worry.

It would have been awesome if your prediction had been accurate and it was Cowboys/Jets in the bowl. I can guarantee I’d have been at that game, getting slapped in the face every time the Jets made a play.
