I was at the AT&T Center last night and it was awesome!!! Sitting right next to some Mav fans. They were a little obnoxious early on but they got quiet as the game went on.
Parker was unbelievable!!! He is having a great season. We may not make it to the Finals but I sure as Hell don’t want to see the Spurs exit in the first round against the Mavs.
Xenieze!!! Good to see you back bro!! And always, the fantastic pics are greatly appreciated. Angles, quality, perfect timing of pics, everything is bigtime, much appreciated. Yeah that shot by Iggie to put the nail in the Magic’s coffin was sick, not to mention an 18-point comeback.
Keep the pics rollin man!!
The Ray Allen-Ben Gordon shootout was ill last night!!! Ray with the dagger after 42 from Ben, and Rajon with a trip-dub, what a game!! I’m glad the playoffs are getting off to a great start. This BOS-CHI series is living up to expectations, if not exceeding them.
And the Spurs showing the Mavs no mercy last night!!! TP droppin 38 was nice. DeputyDawg, I’m sure you had fun at the game, it was all Spurs from bell to bell. Drew Gooden will be a valuable asset for the Spurs in the playoffs.

What’s up?! Good to see some familiar names in here. What a start to the playoffs. Boston and San Antonio got some huge wins in very different fashion last night. I suspect both those teams will advance, though it won’t be easy.
Now let’s see if I can get a few pics up from those games…
EDIT: If you click on the pics, they pop up as a larger image.

Ben Gordon went off for 42 in a losing cause for Chicago in Game 2. Hell of an effort.

Ray Allen had the final say in this game, though.

Tim Duncan had only 13 points but his 11 rebounds and 3 blocks helped key the Spurs past the Mavs in Game 2.
More bad news for Boston. Leon Powe is done for the season with a torn knee ligament.

Don’t know why that posted twice.
Anyway … Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is sitting out practice Tuesday and Wednesday with a sprained ankle. But coach Doc Rivers says Rondo will be able to play in Game 3 on Thursday night.
Sounds like a short playoff stay for Boston is not out of the question.

As a die hard Chicago fan ( Bears, Bulls, Sox…) Bulls all the way!!!
On a more serious note, I am picking Dallas as my sleeper in the first round. They have to be tired of having a good season and getting blown out in the first round. And Dirk has to have cleared his throat finally from the piss poor playoffs he swallowed down in the past.
Other than that, gotta agree with the rest of the picks. Good thread “tmoney1”. Are you from OKC or from general area? I was stationed at Tinker for years until I got pulled down to Sheppard.
SergeantQ, nice to see you on the thread. Yeah, Dallas looked good at SAS, tough place to play. I see what you are saying about Dallas having a good regular season, then sucking in the playoffs. Especially a couple of years back when they steamrolled the league, then the Warriors beat em down in the first round (my boys AngryVader and Kalle were super excited about this, being Warriors fans). I think it turned around for them for the worse when they went up 2-0 in the 2006 Finals to the Heat, then lost four straight.
Yes sir, I am from OKC, grew up here and live here (although I’m heading off to Colorado in a few months). That’s awesome you were stationed at Tinker, how did you like it in Midwest City and Oklahoma City in general? Hope things at Sheppard are going well. Thank you for your service and enjoy the playoffs!!![/quote]
OKC was a barren waste land when I first got there in 99 and I hated it; coming from Chicago. However, as time went on OKC expanded and I hated it go. I travel frequently back and forth just for the sites, things to do. Wichita falls is horrible!
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and how about Them Bulls? I think the Bulls got some confidence and they actually think they can win. If it weren’t for Stinkin Azz Ray Allen, it just may be 2-0 series headin back to the “Chi”.

Yeah I just read this. With Powe out and Rajon with a bum ankle, the health of the team definitely comes into question. I’m sure Rajon will put on another stellar performance on Thursday, but the Bulls will be fired up playing at home.
But yeah, I agree, Boston looks to be heading home before the Conference Finals.

Yeah I could see that coming from Chicago to OKC was definitely a culture shock. Not much going on in 99, but the city has grown since then, and downtown/bricktown looks really good with the facelift. Sorry about Wichita Falls, hopefully it gets better soon.
Yeah, the Bulls look good. They are hanging with the defending champs shot for shot. The Ben Gordon-Ray Allen battle yesterday was classic. I know the Bulls will be pumped for Thursday and the crowd will be loud.
So a bunch of my college buddies have this long hoops email thread running and the following question has just come up:
So you’re a present-day GM, which PG do you build around?
Parker or D Rose?
Deron or D Rose?

Parker? Come on… Deron I could understand, but there’s no way I would ever take Parker over Rose. Rose is doing this all as a 20 year old kid and has far more physical capability than Parker. D-Will is great, but I would still probably take Rose over him.
Edit: I think the bigger question is: Who will be the better point guard in 5 or so years between Paul, Williams, and Rose?
That kobe dunk in Game 1 was one of the sickest I’ve seen in a while. Heres my predictions:
Lakers over Jazz in 5
Nuggets over Hornets in 6
Spurs over Mavs in 6
Blazers over Rockets in 7
Cavs over Pistons in 5
Celtics over Bulls in 7 (maybe bulls over Celts now that they are without KG and Powe)
Magic over 76’s in 6
Hawks over Heat in 7
Lakers over Blazers in 6
Denver over Spurs in 6
Cavs over Hawks in 6
Magic over Celtics in 6
Lakers over Denver in 5
Cavs over Magic in 6
Finals: Lakers over Cav’s in 6, im calling it right now

WooooooW! An early prediction of Lakers in 6 over Cavs with Cavs having homecourt advantage; very Ballsy! Especially with Cavs having a 39-1 record at home. In order for Lakers to pull this off, I think Odom and Kobe need at least 20 a piece every time they play in order to overpower the Cavs and force Lebron out of his game. If Kobe and Odom put up solid numbers, lebron will leave his teammates out and try to win it himself causing the Cavs downfall.
Overall, Ballsy prediction, but very possible with the Zen master at the helm.

The Cavs are actually 39-2 with that loss to Philadelphia at the end (although you might not have been counting that because LeBron and others rested). I don’t think this is too far out of the realm of possibility though, considering the Lakers were basically the only team to beat the Cavs at home. I think you’re right about LeBron taking it over by himself in that it would doom the Cavaliers. Then again, they aren’t an incredibly strong team without him. The increasingly obvious Cavs-Lakers matchup should be great to watch though.
I just don’t see Detroit making this much of a series, despite Rip Hamilton’s best efforts. Maybe it goes 5 games.

Just too much LeBron. Especially for this fan.
