2009 NBA Playoffs

Kobe’s the man, and I’m gonna be pumped to see him get his first shaq-less ring.

D-Fish was HUUGE!

Magic blew it.

Nice win by the Lakers last night after being down 12 at half. They didn’t give up and fought their way back to victory. Good play from everyone, and Fish coming up extra large with two clutch threes. The Lakers should also thank Dwight Howard for missing the two FT’s at the end of regulation, because making 1 of 2 probably would have sealed the deal for the Magic. Howard had been surprisingly good at the line in the past couple of series, but missed critical FT’s at a critical time.

With the combination of Lee making that crazy layup in game 2 and Howard making those FT’s in game 4, it could easily be 3-1 Magic instead of 3-1 LA, but the Lakers have found their will to win and have played good ball in the biggest situations.

I think the Magic come back and take game 5 and the Lakers finish it at home in game 6. Also i think the Magic win by at least 8 in game 5.

Astonished that the NBA didn’t suspend Pietrus for his foul on Gasol. Two fists with a wind up, not a play on the ball, while the player was in mid-air. If Gasol didn’t hang onto the rim he could have been seriously injured from that. I mean, I know the series is basically over already anyway, but still… I just don’t get how the League can be so blatantly inconsistent with these sorts of things.

Grats to Kobe and the Lakers, they played a great game to closeout in Orlando, he looked so genuinely happy, it was fun to watch.

I am dreading the celebration if the Lakers win, we have to be the only people here in LA who destroy shit when we win.

Yes! LAKERS!!!

Done.

LAKERS BABY!!! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!! WOOOOOOOO!!! RIP A STOP SIGN OUTTA THE GROUND CUZ WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!@!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

boston celtics, COME SEE US NEXT YEAR BABY. WE WILL BE WAITING. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY LAKER BRETHERN HERE ON THE NATION!!!

T-LAKERS!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! WOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAHHHHHHHH DAWGGGGGGGGGGGG.

Lakers deserved the win. The series was kind of disapointing. At least 3 out of the 5 games were worth watching.

Congrats to the Lakers on their championship, it was well deserved. Great game by all and nice way to win back to back games on the road to win a championship. The sheer joy and relief on Kobe’s face was awesome, he deserved it. His legacy is now cemented.

Congrats to Phil Jackson on his 10th title (as displayed on his hat), going down as the coaching GOAT. There are also guys who don’t get recognition that deserve credit as well (Jim Cleamons, Frank Hamblen, Tex Winter, Gary Vitti, Kurt Rambis, Brian Shaw, etc).

Congratulations Lakers, well deserved.

I am sure alot of you won’t know this, but the state is in such financial difficulty, that it may not actually have a victory celebration. The mayor is not confirming anything yet, but in past years we have had a parade here in LA to celebrate, which usually costs 1 million smacks. They are looking to find something more economic. LAME.

I’m sure Kobe could afford it.

I read somewhere the city is requiring the Lakers to go 50/50 on the cost of the celebration. I think it’s worth it. Money comes and goes, championships are forever.

The city should force the Lakers to post a giant bond to pay for all of the clean up/property damage/ workers comp payments for police officers etc. Stay classy Laker fans.

If they could cut cost by using paper instead of Louis Vatton confetti, and having it on crenshaw blvd instead of Rodeo drive.

Better late than never…

OP, I think is time you lay this thread to rest.
