I hope for Kansas City’s (though I don’t know why) sake that I’m wrong about Dorsey, but I just can’t justify paying that kind of money for a DT. The trend of defensive players in the last few years has been shifting towards the prototype players like Gholston and Long, rather than big guys whose job is to basically clog the middle.
As for the Heisman, that was a joke and a half. His numbers alone were no where near close enough to bring him anywhere close to legitmate Heisman contention, IMO. Tebow just had too incredible of a season for him to be looked over by anyone.

As long as Al Davis runs your team, you’ll have problems.
In other news, the Giants took Mario Manningham (WR, Michigan), Kevin Smith went to the Lions (oh great), and the Bucs blew another pick.[/quote]
I’m sorry Giants fans, but don’t get your hopes up about Mario Manningham. He’s a pothead who doesn’t give two shits about football. After a few standout highlights his freshman and sophomore years, he virtually disappeared this season. I wouldn’t wish him on any team. And I go to Michigan so I’m not just hating on the Wolverines.
I’ve got to disagree about the Chiefs draft. Where did we need to get rid of JE to get Dorsey? You can call it an even exchange, but Allen was a known commodity. I have no problem with Dorsey per se, but it doesn’t seem we did anything for the Oline. Branden Albert? Is he that good? Still could have had Allen and a good OLineman at 5. Used the other picks for db’s and more linemen. And 2 TE’s? wtf? Maybe should have hung on to Dunn and/or Wilson another year. Could have used one of the picks for a wideout.
I think the Chiefs broke even. Again, I hope I’m wrong. I see another 4-12 season looming.
Did anybody read the interview with Ryan Sims’ dad about his son’s playing time in KC? Apparently its not where players want to play. Too bad. Great fan support.
Hey now, watch it! They selected Mike Merritt from UCF. Don’t hate, he’s good (though to be honest, I cannot believe he got drated).
And I don’t like the Jared Allen trade either. However, they were stalling on contract talks and got a hell of a deal for him. And that guard you took with the 15th pick is good, don’t worry. Dorsey is no Allen, obviously, but he’s still a great pick at 5.

He has potential. It was a good pick for what it was worth. The Giants don’t mess around with players, so that’s why I like this pick. If he screws up, he’s gone. I listened in to his conference call with the media and the organization and I’ll tell you what, your assessment of him is dead on. He speaks like a total dumbass.
Of note: he scored a 6 on the Wonderlic test; 10 is considered literate. I’ve heard rumors that he can’t even spell his last name. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit, to be honest.

It is a rather long name…
Luckily they didn’t draft him for their spelling bee team.
