2008 NBA Playoff Thread

OH SNAP!!! Cavs on a 23-2 run last 8 minutes!!

This might have been a foul!

Game 7 it is for Cavs-Celts.

On to Game 7!

Xeneize: Loved the pics! Thoughts: As a Spurs fan and total homer – I hope that the Hornets get wrapped up in NBA officiating conspiracies and Robert Horry. I hope that Spurs extensive playoff experience and 4 trophies and a good number of game 7’s all payoff. That said, having watched games 1,2, and 5 wherein the Spurs completely melted down in the third quarter and were blown out, I feel a notable lack of confidence.

I don’t know if any of you guys on this thread have experienced low back problems with a pinched nerve and the kind of tightening up of the back that David West is experiencing. I have periodically suffered from that. To see him two days later playing in the semi-finals of the NBA is absolutely mindblowing. These guys are truly incredible.[/quote]

I have had my share of back pain through the years. That stuff is no joke.

Glad you enjoyed the pics!

AHHH the celts are killing me right now!

Your team has shown an inability to lose at home, so you probably shouldn’t feel too bad. But then again, facing LeBron with one game on the line is no piece of cake.

GOOOOO CAVS
From C-town right here…
game 7, i don’t like our chances at home vs the celtics, but fuck it, we got lebron-motherfucking-james.

for the un-enlightened…

Before I found this site, I used to have occasional flare-ups with my lower back. But that completely disappeared once my abdominals, glutes and hamstrings (and lower back itself) began to get stronger. Though I should add that my situation was strictly muscular/postural related and nothing structural or neural.

Also, I refuse to take the bait about Horry.

And to echo the others, great job with all these pics Xene.

Good post. I know what you mean on the lower back stuff, it’s definitely muscular/postural with me, too. Flat feet don’t help, either. But like you, applying a lot of ideas from this site have greatly reduced the flareups.

Re: pics, thanks, glad you guys are enjoying them. Gotta put a few up of my Lakers now…!

Lakers came out strong, just as I thought (and hoped). Great first half! Speaking of backs, Kobe looks like his isn’t bothering him too much.

I know the Jazz are going to make a run, just got to hold them off…

Damn, the Lakers made that harder than it needed to be. Whew!

Congrats to Utah, they never give up and they play hard as hell. They’re just a notch below the elite teams.

Nice…

Two great players. Man I’m glad the Lakers have Utah in the rear-view mirror.

That was an absurd run by the Jazz. 5 straight three-balls!

Yeah, that was a crazy end. I wanted the Lakers to win, but even I was rooting for one of those last 3’s to go in to force OT.

Another note from the Lakers v. Utah. Watching Deron Williams and Fisher guard one another was really exciting. Deron is such a talented player, but watching him against Fish made him look a lot more normal.

Another thing I find to be kind of interesting. Fisher was on the Golden State Warriors in 2006, then he helped defeat them in the Conference Semi-finals with the Jazz in 2007. Now in 2008, he helped his Lakers defeat the Jazz in the conference semi-finals. Funny how that stuff works out.

Don’t remind me, I’m a Warriors fan. :frowning:

On a side note, after Derek Fisher was traded to the Jazz, he actually ‘slummed it’ at the local 24 Hour Fitness where I workout. The first few times I saw him there, I didn’t think it was him until I overheard him saying that he was just trying to get some workouts in before he went to Utah. I guess once he was traded, he wasn’t allowed to use the Warriors facilities anymore.

He mainly did dumbbell complexes and he usually had a trainer with him.

I said hi to him, but didn’t really want to bother him at all. Seemed like a nice guy though. He didn’t turn anyone away that asked for autographs or anything like that, which I thought was more patient than I’d be in that situation.

Friday, May 16th Recap:

  1. Cavs defeat 1) Celtics 74-69: LeBron James with a huge game with 32, 12 boards, and 6 dimes, and his Cavs force a Game 7. Kevin Garnett had 25 and 8 boards, as his Celtics lose on the road…again, and will try to wrap up the series at home…again.

  2. Lakers defeat 4) Jazz 108-105: Kobe Bryant had 34 and 8 boards, and the Lakers stave off a late Jazz rally to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Deron Williams with another spectacular performance with 21 points and 14 assists, and Carlos Boozer provided 12 and 14 rebounds.

Stud of the Night: Kobe Bryant. 34 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, a win on the road in a tough place to play, and most importantly, advancing his Lakers to the conference finals.
