Welcome back smh.

I read on another website that because of their age, they won’t be able to be tried (sp?) as adults and thus get the death penalty. Such crap. Conscious decision was made, a life was lost. All 3 lives should be forfeit, even the bastard “get away” driver.

Second this. Tired of it. I’m fucking sorry this guy died in such a travesty, and I hope they fry the fuckers who did it. But I’m seriously fucking tired of this not-subtle-at-all race baiting going on.
Amen. Does anyone wonder if this plus his heavily generalized opinions of women are somehow a reflection of some kind of deep seated fear or insecurity?
Deep seated, or just short and pencil-thin?

Women laugh at it while black men, according to an old legend, dwarf it.

Check and check. Makes sense to me.

Seriously, though, there are people–I’ve personally known them–who are happy when they read or watch a news report about a black man committing murder. Literally pleased–because it’s another log to throw on their little micropenile fire. It’s another piece of evidence to fit into their master theory of race and violence. Nevermind the fact that a child just barely out of diapers could explain to them–and in terms they’d surely understand–the very simple sociological undercurrents here.
so if im reading you corrently, I have a small penis

blacks commit murders because they are poor (are we really using this one again?)
You might  but what you display most is a small mind
and how is that?
If you tell me race plays no part in this I will retract what I have said and apologize
well, considering the black shooter said “90% of white people are evil, I hate them” and “I knocked out 5 woods (somehow a slur for white people) since the Zimmerman acquittal”…

I suppose my mind is small (which I am completely fine with you believing)
Not sure why you are being labeled as such. After all, in the aftermath of this beating, you didnt go rioting, beating up “black-looking” people and looting private businesses for the sake of scoring a new plasma in the name of “justice”

BTW in case it hasnt already been posted, they caught the other kid:

They should put his head in a fucking vice. Piece of shit.

Audiogarden1,

Do you really want to be lumped in with Mr. Walkway and ConservativeDog? Both of which spend about 90% of their posts either bashing black people or trying to convince everyone that skin pigmentation is directly correlated to crimes. Which is absurd.

I dont “want” to be lumped in with anyone. I leave that up to you and anyone else to decide.

I also dont believe skin pigmentation is inherently correlated to crime, though i dont dispute the glaring statistical disparities…

BUT, at the end of the day, i believe this case is far more shocking, and has far more to go off of from a race standpoint than the Trayvon Martin case ever did, yet its manage to fly quietly under the radar for most.

I have seen 1 single facebook post about this, and have not heard it mentioned outside of the internet by anyone i work with or communicate with on a daily basis. Its disgusting.

Call it race-baiting if you want, i think im just calling attention to a gross double-standard that is perfectly relevant right now.
audiogarden1 wrote:
Nobody does.

The question is what you choose to believe to be the best explanation for them.

Maybe there is/are some as-yet misunderstood gene or group of genes that find a convenient outlet in deviance and criminality. Maybe something inborn is driving a predilection for theft/violence/rape. But–and this is a real thorn in the side of the contemporary racist–no such genetic arrangement has ever been linked to blacks. And, given that genetic variation within a “race” can differ as much as from one race to another, it seems extremely unlikely.

Which leaves us the alternative, attested in studies and history and that fabled endeavor called common sense–ad nauseum.

So option A is more damning for blacks as a collective people, but baseless. Option B is supported and re-supported from here to eternity, but it doesn’t damn blackness ipso facto. It seems clear to me that there are at least a few, maybe several vermin hereabouts who prefer–who choose–option A, despite its tenuous relationship with reality.

–Fuck these people. Because they’ve chosen based upon personal preference rather than evidence, their choice says nothing about the issue and everything about them. This is why my first post in this thread was a dick joke–juvenile, yes, but it did get at something: racism is almost always about the racist. I’ve got to believe that at least a significant minority of cases have got something to do with risible sexual endowment.

But most of all, fuck these people because they make the rest of us look bad. I like this place and the people in it. And over the years I’ve come to hold at least as many conservative opinions as liberal ones. I’m sure it’s not lost on anyone that the typical knee-jerk urban-dwelling, Hardball-watching liberal believes that conservatism and racism are one or at least, as “the blacks” would say, “tight.” And yet, if you look around here (a generally conservative place), excluding the few posters in question, you won’t find a fucking shred of racism. Which is why these people need to be not just disagreed with but countered, exposed, dismissed.

[Not saying that you specifically have anything to do with this set of beliefs, because you made it very clear that you don’t.]

Look, would a gun have saved this man’s life?

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the circumstances, and you have to factor in the dude is almost 90 damn years old. How spry the guy was will come into play. After WWII he might not have even wanted to have a gun, let alone on him at the rink.

Plus, not to disrespect a murdered vet, but he might have been a total dick head, and these kids have temper issues…

Who knows what happened, we don’t even have suspects yet. Outside of commenting on the fact that gun control is stupid because senseless violence still happens, the story is just a sad happening where someone who fought for our freedom died earlier than he was supposed to.
Actually my comment concerned how people on the internet like to blame guns for deaths. These guys beat a 90 year old man to death who was 5 feet tall. It goes on to highlight how certain portions of the American gene pool should be limited if not sterilized to protect future generations from harm

It doesn’t matter if this guy was the biggest dick known to mankind, which he wasn’t based on interviews with people who knew him - beating the elderly to death is pure evil.

Ban fists, just cut them straight off like they do in Saudi Arabia.

No, I hope you don’t and I don’t want to lump you in with those two. I’ll admit in some cases the statistics don’t look good; however, all these stats do is highlight an extremely complex issue and I’m all for discussing that issue and the drivers behind the statistics.

The problem is guys like Walkway don’t care about the underlying cause or causes of an issue like this. They just use a soundbite or one, “analysis,” to justify their racism. Ignoring the complexity of the issue completely.

I won’t speak on the social media aspect you brought up because I’m not on social media. All I do know is I saw the story on a number of major news websites including CNN, Fox, NYTimes, etc…

I have also not heard any details pointing to this being racial motivated.

Well i havent followed enough of Walkway or the other mentioned member’s posts to really say im familiar with all their alleged racism, but if thats the case, i could see that my initial post would likely only amount to fuel to the fire. However, i dont take it back, so if im perceived or misjudged as racist for saying that, then oh well. I dont particularly care to argue the point.

I certainly get where you’re coming from with this post.

Im not familiar enough with Walkway’s alleged racist comments to speak on that.

And while im not arguing that this was a racially motivated case, there was some evidence (via social media) that at least one of the assailants wasnt the biggest fan of white people.

What im saying is, its ridiculous that there was such complete and widespread outrage, and this massive media frenzy that accompanied the Zimmerman trial (which i still maintain that if you looked at ALL the evidence, the man was justifiably innocent) but in the case of a poor old WWII vet being mercilessly beaten to death by 2 black teens, the only notable detail is that he was old.

To clarify, i dont want this to turn into some racially charged media frenzy because i actually find that sort of thing digusting, mainly due to modern mainstream media’s complete inability to accurately report and inform people on such cases. All im saying is that i find this double-standard outrageous. I hope that doesnt make me racist, wouldnt want to have to explain that to my dad about my black step-mom and two black-step brothers.

Agree on Zimmerman and the media.
