16 WINS !!?

See this is exactly why I will never go to Vegas… or why I shouldn’t at least! But hey, it’s only two games. Gotta be optimistic here.

Detroit is not called “Hockey Town”, its called “Hockey Town USA”. Its a distinction worth noting for obvious reasons.

lol @ the poster from Colorado, a recently relocated team, trash talking the Red Wings organisation and saying its all about the game. hahaha

Hey DIE JOB, Have you ever played hockey?

Before I even learned to walk.

That’s great. Then you can appreciate the love of the game. If a community won’t show it’s love enough to keep a team in town - how can you fault the team for moving to where the love is shown? The Avalanche’s arenas (first McNickles, aka “Big Mac” and now the Pepsi Center, aka “The Can”) have been sold out since day 1. Colorado’s got the love. So why is your thong gettin’ all bunched up?

Now, if you want to get into winning percentages we can always do that - how “winning” a team is doesn’t always equate to how their community loves 'em though.

Avs are going down!!

lol Bodhi!
…comparing Colorado’s winning percentage with one of the original 6 teams. lmao

Don’t worry though, Colorado’s reign as a power house in the west is coming to an end. If they can’t make it deep into the playoffs over the next couple of years I suspect that the core will be broken up and that Foresberg will retire. That will likely lead to a long rebuilding phase as Colorado doesn’t have the money to throw around on free agents (relatively small market) and because they have traded alot of their depth over the last few seasons at the trade deadlines.

Kieran, you are kidding right? Get your numbers right.
As for the entire NHL. Enjoy it while you can,all of it will come to an end as we know it. It is called a STRIKE most of the players won’t be around at all next year if they even play at all.

You think the Avs will be torn apart? What about the wings? How many guys do they have that are near retirement? Probably close to 1/3. And Colorado doesn’t have the money? I don’t kno what payroll you’re looking at but it seems like theyre paying plenty for the guys they got now. And even if they rebuild Pierre has done a masterful job of drafting since he came aboard. I mean, Sakic, Tanguay, Drury (still mad about that trade) Hejduk, Svatos, Abby, the trade for Forsberg at the draft, not to mention the dead line trades the guy makes. The only thing I’m worried about is who’s going to be left after the lockout.

And as for winning percentages, if you take what theyve done in Colorado and forget Quebec, cuz they turned into a completely different team when they got to Denver, I bet you there pretty close . Being that this is the first year that the Avs haven’t won their division.

They arent that different. Quebec sucked for many years allowing them great draft choices. They were on the verge of having a really solid team. Colorado got a really sweet and upcoming team. What the avs got that they would have never been able to get was Patrick Roy. This is because at the time the Nordiques were division rivals with the Canadiens, so that trade would have never happened.

Anyways, look at the Nordiques roster in the final year and look at the Avs in their first year when they won the cup. Its basically the same team.

Anyways, the measure of a fan is not when their team is winning, but when they’re losing.

which colorado is doing quite nicely at right now. Down 3-0 to the sharks…looks like Detroit has a new arch-rival.

Die, well said.
As it still takes 16 wins.
God I love this game.

Where have the Avs fans and Wings fans gone? Flyers all the way!!!

Sorry I have not posted in a few weeks, took off to Lake Havasu for a couple of weeks but that’s another thread.

Got to love the The Bolt’s and Flames. I’ll take the Flames…
